About BreakingNews24hr

Our mission

BreakingNews24hr exists to deliver verified, optimistic journalism around the clock. We believe readers are best served by news that is checked before it is fast, that treats hard problems seriously, and that gives progress the same careful attention as setbacks.

Our editorial aim is a clear, confident wire-and-magazine voice: short paragraphs, plain English, and no hype.

A demonstration edition

This site is a demonstration and design showcase. Every story you read here is a fictional, illustrative scenario. The organisations, experts, quotes and figures in those stories are invented, and none of them describe real events, people or companies.

Where a number appears, it comes from the scenario or is labelled as an illustrative figure. Please do not cite these articles as fact or rely on them for decisions.

How we would work

The standards below describe the newsroom this design is built to represent.

• Verify before publishing, and show our sourcing.
• Separate reporting from opinion and label each clearly.
• Correct errors visibly and promptly.
• Offer no medical, financial or legal advice.

What is and is not live

The web app, saved stories, dark mode and alert preferences work in your browser. There is no live newsroom behind them, no mobile app and no real accounts. See the Apps and Ecosystem page for details.

Questions about the project can be sent to [email protected].

Editorial principles in practice

Because this edition is a showcase, its stories are written to demonstrate tone, structure and layout rather than to report on the world. Each piece follows the same house rules: a clear standfirst, a short list of key points, an invented expert voice where a quote is needed, and a closing look at what to watch next. Readers are invited to judge the design, the reading experience and the clarity of the writing.

If this were a live newsroom, every claim would be traced to named sources, and every correction would be logged on the page where the error appeared. We keep that ambition in view even while the stories remain fictional, because good habits are easier to build into a design from the start.
