Apps & Ecosystem

Honest status

BreakingNews24hr does not currently offer an iOS app, an Android app or a Smart TV app. Any buttons or mentions elsewhere on the site are design placeholders only, and nothing is available to download.

RSS feed

An RSS feed is available at rss.xml on this site. Add it to your feed reader to follow the demo's headlines. As with every story here, the entries are fictional.

Web app features

The site itself works like a lightweight app in your browser.

• Saved stories to keep articles for later.
• Dark mode, with your choice remembered.
• Alert preferences to choose the topics you would like flagged.

These features store data only on your device. There is no sync between devices and no account.

What may come next

Native apps are not planned or promised for this demonstration. Suggestions are welcome at [email protected].

Using the site on your phone or TV

The site is responsive, so it can be opened in the browser on a phone, tablet or television that has one. Many browsers also let you add a page to your home screen as a shortcut. This is simply a bookmark, not an installed app, and it does not add features such as push notifications.

Alert preferences, for example, record the topics you choose on this device, but the demo does not send notifications to your phone, email or any other channel.
